Family Portrait Series (D), 2008

18 x 24 inches, acrylic paint on canvas. My dad :)
Little by little its getting easier to paint flesh tones. I've been having trouble trying to set the colors right but it turns out, the more frustrated I get when painting, the quicker I get to the point in the painting where I feel more comfortable........I don't get it.

Portrait in Profile '08

18 x 24 inches, Oil Painting.
I am still working on this one. There is a chance that the background will change because I'm not sure the blue is working for the rest of the image. And I'd like to re-work the models neck, it's a bit too dark. :)

Candles and Fruit Still Life '08

18 x 24 in, Oil on canvas, personal collection

The camera I used picked up the light source too much. The background is completely black/brown. This painting is one of my first paintings done in oil. The brush strokes are very free flowing and painterly. I think it's my favorite way of accomplishing a painting and I think I'm going to stick to it.
